Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Does UXU have a waiver for me to fill out for activities?
A. Yes. Most outdoor activities involve a certain amount of risk, and UXU’s activities are no different. Trails are uneven and rocky, horses are animals with sometimes persnickety personalities, and river water moves with the current. In other words, the outdoor environment we experience through UXU’s activities is wild and cannot be completely managed. In many ways, the wild and unmanaged is exactly what we seek when choosing to participate in outdoor activities. The UXU staff strive to mitigate the inherent risks of each activity, but we cannot eliminate those risks. That’s why we require every guest to read and sign an acknowledgment of risks and waiver. Please read the waiver document carefully. Waivers are sent electronically, or can be filled out when you arrive if the booking was on site. We are happy to address any questions you might have! Q: Are pets welcomed at the Ranch?
A. We really love dogs (and pets) but due to the abundant wildlife in the area, and the consideration to our other guests, we cannot allow pets. Service Dogs are welcome. Please note, we do have working ranch dogs on the premises. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
Q: Do you provide airport pickup?
A. We offer complimentary airport pick-up from the Yellowstone Regional Airport, located in Cody, Wyoming. We are unable to accommodate pick-ups from any other airports.
Q: Why does a portion of the surcharge fees include animal care?
A. The well-being of our horses is of the utmost importance to us, as they are the heart of our ranch. A portion of the surcharge fees go towards the care of our ranch horses used in our Dude Ranch & Trail Riding programs, including but not limited to: hay & feed, farrier, and vet care.
