The famous and highly recommended stunning Stage Stop Cabin, is the pride of the UXU. This historic cabin, originally located in the nearby town of Wapiti (meaning "Elk" or "White Rump" in the Shawnee Indian language) was used as the stage coach stop for the trail leading to Yellowstone. The delicate task of dismantling this historic relic began in the winter and although the entire renovation process took nearly seven months, once you see the finished product, we know you'll agree, it was well worth the effort!
The Stage Stop cabin has been lovingly restored with your comfort and enjoyment as our first priority. Our most private and secluded cabin features a wood burning fireplace and a cozy, western, ambiance adorned by cowboy memorabilia gathered over the past century. Truly this is your perfect hideout.
Two spacious bedrooms allow ample room for up to 6 people. Bedroom one offers a comfortable queen bed and set of bunk beds with a large sitting area, fireplace and access to the cabin's private porch overlooking the Shoshone River. The second bedroom provides two twin beds and privacy. Two beautiful bathrooms have been added, each featuring an open stone shower.
After a long day in the saddle, a steaming, hot shower soothes the muscles, the ancient, smooth, stones massage the feet, the hypnotic sounds of the Shoshone river at your back drowns out all worries and the fragrant, pine scented air invigorates the soul.
Slip out onto the private deck and into the hand crafted wooden rocking chairs. This peaceful perch overlooking the river imparts a deep sense of peace while offering spectacular views of wildlife.
